Basics of Prayer that Shapes the Future -- Online Event

Have you ever wanted to be more effective in your prayer life?

Do you think God only answers the prayers of “prayer warriors?”

In “Basics of Prayer that Shapes the Future” we look at how any Christian can pray with vision and power. Sessions move between focusing on growing in intimacy with Jesus Christ through prayer and participating with God in shaping the future through intercessory prayer.

Comments from recent participants:

  • “I feel the Lord used this time to call me into deeper relationship with Him & new work for the Kingdom.”
  • “Renewed my hope to be persistent in prayer”
  • “Thanks for the reminder of our empowerment as believers to intercede for God’s work in the world. I am encouraged to pray for the struggles of my friends and family.”

We cover topics like:

  • The Life of Prayer: Nurturing Intimacy with God
  • Intercessory Prayer
  • Vision and Prayer: Sharing in the Advancement of the Kingdom of God
  • Practical Instructions for Nurturing Prayer

Whether you think you are simply “not good” at prayer, want to go deeper in your walk with God through prayer, or want to grow in your understanding of intercessory prayer, this conference will give you Biblical foundations and practical instruction to help you grow in both personal and corporate prayer, led by the Holy Spirit.

Explanation of Online Option Registration Fee

PRMI has found that when online events have zero registration fees, there is a high no-show rate, plus spam registrations from automated bots that fill out forms.

As some of our multi-day events require materials, prayer coverage, and small group planning, a small online registration fee will help PRMI manage the resources to support the meeting and keep unnecessary registrations from clogging the system.

As is true of all of PRMI events and consistent with the Faith Basis, this fee is not the event offering. All of our events are offered on a faith basis. You’ll have the opportunity to advance the work of PRMI through your offering.

Plan to Be Fully Present:

Since our events focus on spiritual formation and discipleship, one segment of our events leads into the next. Thus we encourage you to be fully present for the entire event, as much as you are able.

OFFERING

All events organized by PRMI are offering based.  During your event, you'll be invited to share in the vision of PRMI and give an offering towards the ministry to advance our mission of equipping people to cooperate with the Holy Spirit.  Pray about how to participate long before you arrive.

Speakers:

Rev. Dr. James Kearny

James Kearny 2019
Rev. Dr. James Kearny is a Presbyterian Pastor ministering in Seattle’s urban core. He became involved in PRMI over a decade ago as he searched for more effective tools for bringing the kingdom.

He taught and practiced the principles of Dunamis in his congregation as well as teaching around the US.  James serves a group to promote Dunamis in the Pacific NW and serves as the Developer of Congregational Dunamis.

He brings stories of introducing a fuller understanding and practice of the person and work of the Holy Spirit in a PC(USA) congregation.

PaulOdermatt

Paul Odermatt 2020
Paul Odermatt is a retired high school English teacher living in Langley, BC. His Dunamis experience started in Kelowna in 2003 where he had a dramatic experience with the Holy Spirit which transformed, renewed and invigorated his faith and the sense of God in his life.

Since 2006, because he lives close to the Canada/US border, he and his wife Gwen have been attending Dunamis events, including leadership training, in Northwest Washington where they serve on an Intercessory Prayer Team for a Dunamis track in Bellingham, Washington.

Paul is a member of the board of Dunamis Fellowship Canada, is a member at Home Church Langley where he and Gwen lead the Dunamis video series in their home. He and Gwen have three married children and five grandchildren.

Rev. Martin Boardman

Martin Boardman 2021
Rev. Martin Boardman is an ordained minister of Word and Sacrament in the Christian Reformed Church and pastored in Southern Alberta before the Lord opened the door to become Dunamis Fellowship Canada’s Prayer Mobilizer working closely with PRMI in January 2017.

Dunamis answered the questions that he had about the Holy Spirit. It explained some of his life experiences in a systematic and Biblical way and opened the door to drawing closer in intimacy with the Lord.  He is still putting in to practice some of the suggestions which were shared during that time.

As a result of his involvement in those Dunamis Weekends Martin became more involved with the work of PRMI and was a part of the founding board for Dunamis Fellowship Canada.

Gateways Makeup

Gateways is Dunamis 101. If you have not attended Dunamis Project 1: Gateways to Empowered Ministry, you are invited to take this additional course during the event. It will introduce you to our basic concepts on the baptism of the Holy Spirit, who is the Holy Spirit, what does the Holy Spirit do, and how you can be filled with the Holy Spirit. It is optional but highly recommended. It will start at 6pm on Tuesday, October 12. Please check the box if you plan to attend. You’ll not miss any of the teaching sessions for Dunamis Project 3.
