DP 3 The Power of Prayer -- Greensburg, PA
Have you ever wanted to be more effective in your prayer life?
Do you think God only answers the prayers of “prayer warriors?”
In “The Power of Prayer” we look at how any Christian can pray with vision and power. Sessions move between focusing on growing in intimacy with Jesus Christ through prayer and participating with God in shaping the future through intercessory prayer.
Comments from recent participants:
- “I feel the Lord used this time to call me into deeper relationship with Him & new work for the Kingdom.”
- “Renewed my hope to be persistent in prayer”
- “Thanks for the reminder of our empowerment as believers to intercede for God’s work in the world. I am encouraged to pray for the struggles of my friends and family.”
We cover topics like:
- The Life of Prayer: Nurturing Intimacy with God
- Intercessory Prayer
- Vision and Prayer: Sharing in the Advancement of the Kingdom of God
- Practical Instructions for Nurturing Prayer
Whether you think you are simply “not good” at prayer, want to go deeper in your walk with God through prayer, or want to grow in your understanding of intercessory prayer, this conference will give you Biblical foundations and practical instruction to help you grow in both personal and corporate prayer, led by the Holy Spirit.

Rev. Doug & Carla McMurry
Doug McMurry has been a Presbyterian pastor since 1982. Since retiring from pastoral ministry in 2006, God is challenging him and his wife, Carla, to build a prayer center in Charles City, near Williamsburg, where the first peace treaty took place between white people and Natives on this continent.
Doug is the author of numerous books on prayer and spiritual awakening. The latest is The Forgotten Awakening, which shows how God was speaking about Jesus to Native people in the Pacific Northwest, roughly corresponding to the Second Great Awakening in the East.
Carla McMurry ministered alongside her husband, Doug, in local churches for many years. Since 2006, God is challenging them to build The Clearing Where Eagles Fly, a Christian retreat center, devoted to prayer, seeking spiritual awakening, especially among Native American people, and throughout Central Virginia.
Here Carla has opportunity to use her gifts of worship and hospitality to God’s glory. Carla and Doug have four children and nine grandchildren.
Mary Ellen Conners
After experiencing the Dunamis Project's ministry, Mary Ellen joined the staff in 2004. She has extensive experience in intercessory prayer and prayer ministry, both as a teacher and as a team leader.
Rev. Betsy Rumer
Betsy Rumer is the Executive Pastor of Ministry at Memorial Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church in the North Hills of Pittsburgh PA. She is also on the Board of Directors for PRMI.
As a pastor, her passions lie in the area of teaching, preaching, and healing ministry. She has a strong desire to grow personally in the work of the Holy Spirit as well as help others learn and grow in Him.
She originally came to PRMI as a student through the Dunamis Project back in the Fall of 2010 after having had an unexplainable and profound experience with the Supernatural.
She is delighted to join the Dunamis team as a teacher.
Gateways is Dunamis 101. If you have not attended Dunamis Project 1: Gateways to Empowered Ministry, you are invited to take this additional course during the event. It will introduce you to our basic concepts on the baptism of the Holy Spirit, who is the Holy Spirit, what does the Holy Spirit do, and how you can be filled with the Holy Spirit. It is optional, but highly recommended. If you attend, you'll get the complete manual. Please check the box if you plan to attend. This course will run during the event and you'll not miss any of the teaching sessions for Dunamis Project 3.
