DP 3 The Power of Prayer -- Sutton, AK
Have you ever wanted to be more effective in your prayer life?
Do you think God only answers the prayers of “prayer warriors?”
In “The Power of Prayer” we look at how any Christian can pray with vision and power. Sessions move between focusing on growing in intimacy with Jesus Christ through prayer and participating with God in shaping the future through intercessory prayer.
Comments from recent participants:
- “I feel the Lord used this time to call me into deeper relationship with Him & new work for the Kingdom.”
- “Renewed my hope to be persistent in prayer”
- “Thanks for the reminder of our empowerment as believers to intercede for God’s work in the world. I am encouraged to pray for the struggles of my friends and family.”
We cover topics like:
- The Life of Prayer: Nurturing Intimacy with God
- Intercessory Prayer
- Vision and Prayer: Sharing in the Advancement of the Kingdom of God
- Practical Instructions for Nurturing Prayer
Whether you think you are simply “not good” at prayer, want to go deeper in your walk with God through prayer, or want to grow in your understanding of intercessory prayer, this conference will give you Biblical foundations and practical instruction to help you grow in both personal and corporate prayer, led by the Holy Spirit.
What is The Dunamis Project?
The Dunamis Project is the central training of PRMI to help you cooperate with the Holy Spirit in whatever ministry you may have, in whatever part of the world you may live. The Dunamis Project is a series of six conferences (four or five days each) over three years where you will discover and learn how to use your spiritual gifts in whatever ministry you have.
With The Dunamis Project, you discover:
- Solid biblical teaching about the person and work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.
- Teaching forged from the Scriptures, proven in ministry, and informed by 200 years of renewal and revival movements.
- Spiritual gifts and how to use them effectively in the Kingdom of God.
- How to recognize God’s guidance for ministry in a given moment through the experience-based lab times and review debriefings.

Rev. Martin Boardman
Rev. Martin Boardman is an ordained minister of Word and Sacrament in the Christian Reformed Church and pastored in Southern Alberta before the Lord opened the door to become Dunamis Fellowship Canada’s Prayer Mobilizer working closely with PRMI in January 2017.
Dunamis answered the questions that he had about the Holy Spirit. It explained some of his life experiences in a systematic and Biblical way and opened the door to drawing closer in intimacy with the Lord. He is still putting in to practice some of the suggestions which were shared during that time.
As a result of his involvement in those Dunamis Weekends Martin became more involved with the work of PRMI and was a part of the founding board for Dunamis Fellowship Canada.
Judy Cook attended her first Dunamis Project retreat in 1994 in Alaska where she was immediately deeply engaged with the teaching that answered her need to have a scriptural basis for experiences she had with the Holy Spirit. It was such a refreshing time for her.
The years of solid evangelical Bible teaching from church on one hand, and her exciting experiences in charismatic circles on the other hand, all came together in an integrated way, providing her with a scriptural and theological grid to move forward with God.
In the years since, she has found PRMI retreats and the Dunamis community an environment suited for both challenging growth and loving support in learning to walk with God in ministry.
Rev. Dr. Dale Shillington
Rev. Dr. Dale Shillington is pastor of discipleship at Cornerstone Church in Anchorage, Alaska. He has served in full-time ministry since 1978, and has been active with the Alaska Dunamis Projects since 2010.
Dale grew up on a rural farm in Canada and now owns Selah Ridge Farm in Pt. MacKenzie, Alaska. God has used this environment to design a joy in him to help people grow. His life calling is, “to bear fruit that abides” (John 15:16).
He believes that God designed the gospel of Christ to grow people through the fullness of the Holy Spirit. His passion is to teach people how to receive, listen to and cooperate with the Holy Spirit, so that the Church will advance the Kingdom of Christ as an embodied witness of His glory manifested on earth.
Rev. MJ Quick
Rev. MJ Quick has pastored in Anchorage Alaska with his wife Maria and two children Alexis and Gabby since 1999.
He is currently pastoring at Jewel Lake Church of the Nazarene where he has been since 2013. Before that he planted a church on the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) campus and was there for 10 years.
He was born and raised in Soldotna, a small south-central Alaskan town where his parents still live. He is passionate about Harley Davidson Motorcycles and spends much of his spare time (when the roads are not covered in ice) riding his Harley all over Alaska and the Yukon."
